Certificate course in research data management: application phase started

The course will begin in September 2025 and applications can be submitted from now until 28 April 2025. Scholarships from the Ministry of Culture and Science (MKW) are once again available this year for applicants from NRW.

The course offers the unique opportunity to acquire skills in RDM and its application in service areas at universities and research institutions in a part-time, systematic and certified manner. It is aimed at employees from science-related infrastructure areas and research.

  • Data types
  • Research processes in various subject areas
  • open science
  • Hacking and experimenting with data
  • research project management
  • Technical infrastructure for repositories
  • metadata
  • sustainable data management
  • relevant legal aspects
  • Approaches to counselling and communicating RDM topics for different target groups

The Research Data Management certificate course is a cooperation between TH Köln, ZBIW, the State Initiative for Research Data Management - fdm.nrw and ZB MED. It has been offered to interested parties from North Rhine-Westphalia since 2021 and throughout Germany since 2023.
