On 17 June 2024, the introductory work "Politics and Gender" was published by Barbara Budrich. It is the first complete edition of the living handbook "Handbuch Politik und Geschlecht", which is already available online in open access as a result of the OAPEnz project. With this project, the two partners ZB MED - Information Centre for Life Sciences and the publisher Barbara Budrich have broken new ground. The publishing house published its first "Living Encyclopaedia". ZB MED expanded its Living Handbook series to include an encyclopaedic handbook and adapted the open access platform on the PUBLISSO portal to the needs of the humanities and social sciences. The project was funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to support the scientific publication system towards Open Access.
